The indigenous people of the Amazon’s Xingu Indigenous Territory (TIX) know better than most the impacts of uncontrolled fires, which have intensified as the result of deforestation and climate change, which dries the forest, breaks the circle of life and damages the entire ecosystem. But since 2010, the Ikpeng people have adapted traditional practices to control and reduce the prevalence of forest fires.
